Don’t Ever Take Reglan

So today I went to the ER again for the horrible migraines I’ve been having and they gave me an IV, and told me they were giving me a drug called Reglan with it. I said fine and they hooked me up and about ten minutes later I started having trouble breathing and became very anxious. I wanted to rip the IV out of my arm and run, and I started of thinking where I’d go and realized that having nowhere to go I might as well just kill myself. My feet began to spasm, I kept moving my arms randomly, my face and eyelids were twitching, I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I started hyperventilating, became terrified, and screamed for a nurse. Two nurses came in, I told them I was feeling weird and they said “If you’re feeling jittery the drug can do that to you.”

I asked for a blanket, turned over and slept for an hour. After getting out of the hospital I went and looked up some of the side effects of Reglan, which according to these two websites are:

restlessness

abnormal thinking

confusion

mental or mood changes (e.g., depression, anxiety, agitation, jitteriness)

severe or persistent restlessness

shortness of breath

suicidal thoughts or actions

uncontrolled twitching, tremors, and muscle spasms or movements (e.g., of the arms, legs, tongue, jaw, cheeks,)

altered mental status (paranoid behavior)

Why the FUCK would they give me that drug?
