Then they bitch and moan about how the industry just “doesn’t get them”, or “doesn’t like funny anymore”. Sorry, but that’s the tradeoff: If you want to be a headiner in quick fashion, it’s painfully easy to fill 45min of time with vaguely familiar material that anyone on the planet can execute.
